A yoga retreats set in the beautiful surroundings of the Dare Valley Country Park, near Brecon Beacon, Wales, 3 hours drive from London. Combining daily Yoga sessions in the most calming and relaxing setting and nature-based activities all tailored to awaken your mind, senses and body, you and your family will connect with each other, nature and experience something truly special.
The aim of this retreat is to provide you and your family with a range of opportunities to explore simple nature and adventure which you can take part in together or choose to join in as an when it suits you.
Using nature to work on the mind, body and soul can have a remarkable impact on your physical and mental wellbeing, as well as being a truly inclusive family experience. The natural beauty of the park is off-set with rough and wild areas of woodland which provides the perfect natural space for outdoor training and learning.
Nature Pedagogy provides a unique way of creating a child-centered and learning-rich environment which fosters independence, self esteem and creativity in children through involvement in stimulating outdoor learning activities.
Using proven pedagogical methodologies, the team at Dare Valley ensures that they support the holistic development of each child they work with enhancing their physical, cognitive, emotional and social development.

Synopsis of the Yoga Retreat
Day 1: Exploring the nature of Dare Valley Country Park
A day to get to know the area of outstanding natural beauty on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park.
Day 2: Bushcraft skills
Bush craft and survival skills training with Ignite UP will develop the key skills and knowledge to establish a safe camp, construct a variety of shelters and gain an understanding of the skills needed to survive in the wilderness.
Day 3: Whisky Factory & Waterfall Country
Take a moderate walk after a short bus ride, to see the awesome waterfalls of Sgwyd y Eira that translates to The Snowy Falls. Optional – tour of the Penderyn Whisky factory and to see how we turn the beautiful water from the waterfalls into Welsh Whiskey, with parents having the option to sample a wee dram of Aur Cymru / Welsh Gold.
Day 4: A day to relax at your pace
You will have the option to explore the park by yourself or in groups; alternatively we will provide a number of options to visit the local market town, and explore the quaint village of Aberdare.
Day 5: Castel Coch & Forest Fawr
Explore Castel Coch, the Red Castle and its ancient woodlands. This Fairy Tale castle awaits us in the beautiful woodland of Forest Fawr, a woodland filled with mature oaks, walking trails, carvings and even a bear cave! Expect lots of fun exploring the woods, time to visit the castle and stories.
Day 6 : Cardiff sightseeing
A visit to the capital city of Wales and take the opportunity to visit sights such as the Natural history museum, the worlds greatest sporting stadium, Cardiff castle, taking in a city bus tour or looking for bargains in Cardiff’s many shops.
Day 7: Last day in Nature and departure
Morning in the Dare Valley exploring the park at own leisure (we will supply maps & Compass)
Transfer to London Airport in the afternoon for a late night flight.
